Thank you for the kind words Avian... I really appreciate it. Your uncle's story is very powerful. You're right, if your uncle or anyone else can come here and create an incredible life, we have no excuse.

Dmitriy,

Well done my friend. I am very impressed. I cannot say first hand that I know what it is like to be an immigrant, but I've also heard the things that you dealt with first hand and it is truly a wake up call and very inspiring. As you know my uncle came here 20 something years ago, and still chokes up when asked about his experiences. I only know from what I've heard from other family members, but if my Uncle and his siblings could come here to create a life and be happy what is our excuse? I was told he had to sleep under bridges while traveling from Guatemala to New York City where he later met my Aunt. Everything happens for a reason, and I am truly happy. Without him I wouldn't have such amazing cousins. Blessings to your mom for making that move with you, your grandfather, and brother. I am truly happy she did, because I met you and you are truly my brother from another mother. I look forward to the future helping other's in the process. Thank you for sharing this!

Sharon, thank you for the comment. Russia certainly has changed a lot, and mostly for the better from what I hear. I left there in 96 and I was only 7, so most of what I know is from my mother. It wasn't the best environment then, especially for a Jewish family. I know people from other countries with much harsher experiences .. I think it really does awaken many Americans when they understand and appreciate the circumstances in other places in the world. I believe that with this understanding, comes gratefulness, and with gratefulness, comes a drive to take full advantage of the opportunity.

I do not see where you would be controversial in this latest blog. In fact you have put the facts very straight and to the point and very honest in your observation. I admire anyone coming to America with such drive and ambition to succeed. My husband and I visited Russia back in 2000 and found the country as a whole, very poor. I understand from Mike Klingers recent visit there, that times have changed for the better. I was glad to hear that. I wish you much success.

DK I am with you 100%. I believe a question like, "What are your qualifications" is a question someone would ask in the corporate world. I believe in MLM your success is a choice you make with yourself. Others can help, and may I say you do a great job at that, but at the end of the day neither you nor I can ever offer a guarantee for success. "Qualifications" belong on a resume. I think in all aspects of life anyone can give out advice. You don't necessarily need a degree or certificate in something. For example, Oprah gives advice, but I don't think she has degrees and certificates for the lives that she's helped change. As for John...there are going to be people who want to scam you in life, and there are others who will become like family. I can personally say he's like family. The 21 year old comment is a bit disrespectful because I myself am in MLM and I'm younger than he is. Everything in life is a choice. If you wish to not take the advice you don 't need to and you don't need to leave comments.

Think about this...Kid's have such an imagination and such creativity when they are little, and as they grow up they lose it. They lose the passion to create their dreams, and conform to other's perception of reality. Some kids have more passion than any of us. I'd take a kid's advice on following passion than most people any day.

In closure, you can have the richest man giving you his credentials and the poorest man. If the poor man has more passion and drive he will befriend the richest and make something of himself.

Carmelia, I do agree that it is important for parents to lead by example and teach their children the importance of reading, but I do not believe that upbringing (circumstance) can be used as an excuse for anyone not to pursue further education and personal development.

I have to say this is more on upbringing. If a child grows up with reading then he will continue to read until he is old. It has to start in the home, show your children that you are reading and they will surely follow. As the bible proverbs goes...
"Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it."
